Nate & Emily’s Wedding Day

Do you all remember the Sawyer Seven from earlier this year?  Well, the Cora’s baby brother got engaged a few months ago to Emily, who happens to be a friend of a friend (we live in a small town and trying to explain connections can get difficult and hilarious).  ANYWAY, they asked me to document thier wedding last month.  Naturally, I was completely stoked that they thought of me.  I absolutely adored the time I spent with the Sawyers and I knew it would be no different spending a day with Nate and Emily and the rest of thier families.  They are such genuine, down-to-earth, and sweet people…it’s really hard to not just love them.  Well, thier entire families are both like that.  Just such great people.

One of (many) things about this wedding that just gave me the warm and fuzzies, was the week leading up to the wedding.  We had back to back torrential downpours all over the Pacific Northwest.  Just nasty weather.  So bad in fact, that I drove out to Portland the night before to get a couple of raincovers for my gear.  To say the drive into Portland that night was terrifying is quite an understatement.  At one point we hit a patch of water and I felt the all too nauseating feeling of our truck hydroplaning.  I was almost in tears by the time we got to Best Buy.  I only share this part of the story to emphasize how bad the weather was.  It was bad.  Ha.  Now to the warm and fuzzies!  Come Saturday morning it was drizzling and doing exactly what we all expected it to be, overcast, foggy, and wet.  By 1:30…

It was dry.  Like really quite lovely dry.  It ended up being such a beautiful fall day, that the sun even peeked out for a few minutes immeditately after the ceremony.  I don’t remember who said it, but I remember hearing someone suggest that it was Emily’s daddy sending her some good weather on her wedding day.  I completely agreed with them.  His presence was certaintly there throughout the entire day.

Anyhow, their ceremony was exactly how I like them, short, sweet, emotional, and filled with a lot of supportive friends and family.  There was a lot of love on their family’s farm that day.

Nate and Emily, I want to say thank you for letting me be a part of such a precious day in your lives.  I am truely blessed to have met you both and I wish you nothing but many years of love and laughter.
